Central Michigan today gave football coach Dan Enos a new four-year contract. The deal supersedes his previous contract while extending Enos an additional season, through 2016.“This agreement recognizes the success Dan and his staff had on the field and in the classroom this year,” athletic director Dave Heeke said in a released statement. “I have high expectations for our program and appreciate the resolve Dan has shown in building this program. His vision, dedication for excellence, and commitment to doing things the right way have helped this team to be positioned for continued success.”Enos’ new contract includes an increase in base salary and enhancements to a list of potential performance bonuses.“I am very excited about the next chapter of CMU football,” Enos said in the statement. “Leading this team and maintaining the great traditions and legacy of Chippewa football is a great responsibility and privilege. I'm honored to have the opportunity to work with such an excellent group of young men and to strive together for continued success in the classroom and on the football field."In 2012, his third season at Central Michigan, Enos led the Chippewas to seven victories and a win over Western Kentucky in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl in Detroit. The former Michigan State quarterback was an assistant coach with the Spartans before taking over at CMU in 2010.
